I posted the other day about a possible UTI, but something else is happening... and I have no clue what it is. I woke up this morning, and my whole vulva was... aching. Not a burning or stinging pain, or itch, but this heavy intense ache. I get a similar pain on my period sometimes, and it feels like my vulva's trying to fall off... it would happen if I were standing for a long period of time, and sitting down would make it feel better immediately. But what I have now is different. It hurts BADLY and it's constant, no matter what I'm doing: sitting, standing, lying down, whatever. It feels somewhat better when I put pressure on it with my hand or something, though the initial moment of the touch hurts. Through the day it has been getting worse and worse, and has spread to my anus and even as far as about halfway up my butt cheeks. When I go to the bathroom I still have the UTI pain during urination, but now the ache in my vulva gets worse then, too. Throughout the day, I've had moments of sharp pain on small spots of my vulva, but they don't last very long. There is no redness or anything, no irritation, but my labia majora are slightly swollen, the same way they look after I've had sex. Ice seems to dull the pain slightly, and I spent about an hour in a hot bathtub, which felt somewhat better, but the ache came back as soon as I left the tub.
Does anyone have any idea what could be happening right now? I'm freaking out a little bit, and I can't find anything that suggests similar symptoms. |

Hisoka Kurosaki is a lot of things... suicidal ain't one of them. The kid has way too much anger over what Muraki did to him to make an attempt on his life; in fact, the very reason he becomes a shinigami is track down the one who raped him and cursed him with a slow death. I can almost half accept this if you're going by anime characterization, since he's a little more emotional than his manga counterpart, but bear in mind that a lot of the fandom has read the manga and frankly, manga!Hisoka has so much anger, he's rather scary. I get the feeling that manga!Hisoka has the potential to become almost as much of a monster as Muraki, in a "he who hunts monsters" sort of way. You want to write about a suicidal YnM character? :: Points to Tsuzuki::
And on the subject of Muraki... there's only one person who can get away with addressing the not-so-good doctor as "Kazu-kun" and that is his ladyfriend/fiancee Ukyou Sakuraiji. Your Mary Sue is not going to live to tell the tale. In fact, our Evil Albino/White-Haired Prettyboy with the energy vampire tendencies has a word for Mary Sues, and it translates to "lunch". Though no doubt they Taste Like Diabetes to him. |

Rant the first:
Ever heard of soap? Yeah, it's that stuff used to clean things. So, soap. Pretty straightforward stuff. If you're washing yourself, you apply, lather, rinse.
That's right. Rinse. In case you weren't sure, rinse means you not only wash off the dirt, you wash off the soap. Another fun fact about soap: generally, it doesn't taste good.
So, if you combine those two bits of information, you could conclude:
a) soap doesn't taste very nice
b) people wash it off
Thereby arriving at:
c) people do not usually taste like soap.
They can smell like it. Why don't you say that? And, yes, smell is an important component of taste, but I think most people don't associate soap with a pleasant flavor. It seems...unnatural.
YMMV, of course. You and your dog and your Aunt Bessie could taste like soap, and maybe this is a normal thing amongst the population and I and everyone I've licked is an outlier. If so, sorry.
Rant the second: If your fic is rated NC-17 and the tag says smut, you really don't need to put "explicit sex" in the warning. And then make the text background black too so that you have to highlight it to read it. No, really, it's not that big of a spoiler. |

Has anyone had experience with green tea affecting hormones and/or menstrual cycles? I ask this because my cycle is way out of whack for the last month.

With no other lifestyle change, what could precipitate such a change in my cycle? Basically, what should I pursue next or ask my doctors to pursue? |

If you really have to refer to a character as "the older man", please, make sure it is actually stated (in canon or in your fic) which one of them is older. If it isn't, remember that there are so many things you can use instead: their occupations, titles, and even... their names. You know, things we actually know. |

| Two periods a month |

Hi everyone,
I'm 19 years old, I got my period when I was 11, and up until I was about 17, they were pretty irregular. Then for a full year from 17-18, they became perfectly regular. But now this is the third month in a row in which I've gotten two periods, about one every two weeks. I think it may be due to too much estrogen from soy - I became a vegetarian/mostly vegan last year and started eating way too much of it. Do you think that could be responsible for my extra periods? I know I really need to go to the doctor, but I've never been, and I'm dreading it... I was hoping I could just make this go away on my own by decreasing how much tofu and tempeh I eat, but now here I am again with another period. Also, they're now coming more clotty than they used to, which has me alarmed.
Again, I know I need to go to the doctor, but do you have any ideas on what it could be?

Hey all,
Last night my boyfriend and I went to his Christmas party, of which his boss pays for a hotel room for everyone. We made the best of the free hotel room prior to the Christmas party, to say the least. We started having sex without a condom, but once we got "into" it, he put one on. Once he put one on, it did get a little more rough, but not as rough as I've had it before.
When he pulled out, there was blood on the condom - and I thought no big deal, right?
So we finish, I get dressed,, and we go to the Christmas party. Now, imagine you're on your period wearing a pad and you feel the blood pass. That's what I felt. So, I excused myself and went to the bathroom to find my underwear covered in blood like I had a period. I freaked out as I didn't have a pad/tampon with me and wiped it off as best I could and made a makeshift toilet paper "pad" until we went back up to the room. I told him and he quick googled it on his blackberry, but every response we got there was "STI STI STI STI STI!!!" which I know that neither of us have.
We went back up to the room and no further sexual activity happened as to not enhance the bleeding. I woke up this morning and there was only a small spot of blood on my underwear.
Is this "normal"? Is it possible he just tore me? Or...? At first I thought it might be my period coming early, but I am on the pill (LoEstrin 21, if it matters), so I doubt that would happen. There was no cramping / pain.

I have a question for a fic I'm betaing:
I know that measurements in the UK are done in metric, and that for the most part you do use metric measurements in daily life, however I have also heard Brits (specifically a few older Englishmen) refer to measurements in the US (or English or Imperial depending on who you are) system. My question is, when referring to someone's height in everyday conversation, which would the average person of around university age use?

Greetings,
I am a 29 year old female who is on the birth control pill Ocella. I would say I have sex 5 times a week (sometimes 7, yes...he is a horny man and likes me to relieve him at least once a day!) with my boyfriend of over 2 years! I will admit I am not skinny, but obese...I wish I could lose this weight! My problem, I have been on Ocella for well over a year, at 1st I was on Yaz but Medicaid wouldn't cover it and I have not missed a pill!! Recently, when I have been taking the pills for the week my period is suppose to begin, my period has becoming later and later. Well, this time...my period has not come at all and I start my new pack tomorrow...:\
I am bi-polar and suffer from depression, I am currently on generic Welbutrin for this and maybe 6 months ago the dose was increased! I have to be on a low dose birth control pill otherwise I end up in an evil manic state! Threw most of November I was so darn depressed I could barely function! I have finally snapped out of it, but my appetite is in the toilet! I normally love food and clean my plate, one reason why I am plump but recently...well, I have not really wanted to eat! My main concern is that I maybe pregnant. I don't want to be, financially...I can't afford a kid for I am on disability and I also inherited my mental illness which I do not want to pass on to a child!
Some other history:
Before I met Rodney, I was having some issues with my "monthly visitor!" From the beginning my period often skipped a month here and there. Then about 3 years ago I would bleed for almost a whole month, spotting at times and heavy at other times! My periods were so heavy that I would have to wear 2 pads and in less then an hour I would bleed threw! My GYN put me threw a serious of tests which showed nothing. I had a couple options, birth control pills for one or my GYN could go in and scrap the lining of my uterus and while in there he would use a small camera to look around! At that time I was not with anyone...and about to dry up from the lack of sex, so I decided the surgery route! Well, my insurance said..."heck no," for though my GYN took my insurance the hospital he would have done the surgery at didn't! At that time I met Rodney and went on the birth control pill!
Since being on the pill, I have been suffering from severe Vaginal dryness! I was sent to a specialist about this that sat there and called me fat and told me to lose weight! He accused me of snacking on potato chips, which I hate to say it...I rarely snack and I can't recall the last time I had a potato chip! My GYN apologized left and right for the nasty way the specialist treated me, but it was not his fault!
My Mom - After having me started to develop cysts on her ovaries! The doctor kept removing them only for them to come back bigger and bigger...she had to be spayed in the end, thus I ended up being an only child! My Mom was much younger then me when all this happened! There is no other family history that I know of...

| Daily Routines of Celebrities |

I'm doing research on celebrities. One of my characters is an A-list actor and the other is a popular mainstream singer, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the staff they'd have working for them. Google searches haven't led to many informative areas, but I've managed to stumble on a few job titles like "handler" and "publicist" and "agent." This is good! This is progress!
What I'm not so clear on is how much contact these folks actually have with their celebrity clientele. Is an agent always on the lookout for his or her client's next Big Role? If so, does the agent keep the celebrity up to date on the process of casting the next project? What does a handler do exactly? Does the publicist set up different things than the agent? I'm guessing interviews and the like (meaning the, em, publicity-related things) are done through the publicist? Etc.
Also, what do celebrities' schedules look like when they're not acting/singing? I know movies and albums can take anywhere between six months to several years, so that's a significant chunk of time taken care of there. But what else is in the pie chart? I know some celebs attend charity functions, others see personal trainers, and there are those who have side projects that have nothing to do with their careers. How long can celebrities enjoy down time before they're off and running for their next project? I'm guessing there's a constant pressure to be Seen and Not Forgotten.
Any information is welcome! Books, documentaries, articles, etc. My search has resulted in a lot of gossip and interviews, but not much about what happens behind the scenes.
(I'm starting to assume I should just mainline Entourage for my research.) |

So I was eating spaghetti today. Shut up, I don't have pubes for it to get caught in. As I was munching away happily, I shoved too much food into my mouth. If I'm watching TV, I tend to get carried away with how fast/much I am eating. Now, funny enough, I have this weird thing about textures of stuff. If I have a whole bunch of something gummy -- like spaghetti -- in my mouth, I get nauseous. Very nauseous. I ended up vomiting everywhere. About half way through the process, something that was coming up stuck to my throat, and it tickled like a motherfucker, so I was coughing and vomiting at the same time -- not a fun experience, let me tell you. It just so happened that my nose was stuffed up from being sick after hours in the snow. At least, when I was just vomiting, I could pause just a second and breathe -- but not when those pauses were spent coughing. My only solution was to stop the coughing, by taking whatever was stuck in my throat out. So with my disgustingly long fingers, I reached as far into my mouth as I possibly could and all but scratched it out. Ladies and gents, it was a fucking piece of corn, and I swear to God, I have not had corn in about a year.
I ended up vomiting again, when I had to clean it all up. |
